Stile and Rail Engineered Solid Wood Doors- Let us custom design a door specific to your preferences. You choose the panel configuration; decide on panel materials such as glass, copper, rusty steel, wire, or wood; pick the color, texture, character, and species of wood you desire; and find unlimited combinations or designs and cutting profiles. Our specialty is making reclaimed lumber work and behave in a perfectly flat, square, and true door yet maintain the character on the surface that you desire.  Do you want a door like nobody has? Then talk to us.

Flush Plank Doors- These doors are built with an engineered stave core frame concealed under wide planks laminated to the surface. The majority of the inside of the door can be made with a laminated closed cell foam product which lightens the door and adds superior insulation properties. On an exterior door we can achieve an R5 rating or better (depending on how thick you will let us build your door) which meets Energy Star requirements.

Barn Sliding Doors- Use any of our one kind door slabs combined with track barn door hardware. This is like putting artwork on the wall.

Reclaimed Engineered Wood Flooring- We take any combination of wood species, textures and widths to create the ultimate wood floor for you. Our engineered flooring surface has all of the beauty, color, and texture of reclaimed material but without the problems that are inherent with solid wood reclaimed lumber floors. It fits perfectly tight, installs fast due to exact milling, has wide widths and long lengths, thickness match up better due to accurate sanding with 150 grit finish, no cracks or holes to worry about since we prefill all holes, lays flat, and has less waste.  This can be ¾” thick engineered flooring with a reclaimed ¼” wear layer over an exterior grade 12mm birch ply that meets Carb 2 requirements. We have the thickest standard wear layer in the industry and unlimited options if you want a different thickness or width. Can you imagine how neat it would be to have a wide plank floor with individual boards that are 15 inches wide and 10 feet long yet still perfectly stable and flat? Our flooring is pre-sanded and our personal belief is that site applied finishes work better for the contractor and look classier than pre-finished flooring. Generally our most competitive pricing is on our extra wide width plank floors.

Our millwork is a snapshot of history. Each board that we mill is a page out of a storybook.

Most of our material comes from barns in the Northwest that crews have salvaged. These barns have many tales to tell. old barn
It is not unusual to be using wood from a barn that is a 100 years old. Many of the farmers that we talked to have told us that their grandfather was a child when the barn was built.

When you look at one of our reclaimed wood doors you can almost hear the stories pop out of the old wood. Many artifacts show up in the barns during demolition. Sometimes our metal detectors find bullets in the wood. One time we found a bullet in a board that was shot when it was still a tree; the wood had grown around the bullet and left no hole. Imagine how long ago this happened. The barn it came from was built at the turn of the century.

Our doors are built entirely out of reclaimed lumber unless the customer specifies otherwise. The wood we use is salvaged from barns, fences, and outbuildings that otherwise would have been destined to rot, burn, or go to the landfill. Our business is not a demolition business. The barns are carefully taken down so that each individual barn board can be saved. Most of the structures come from farmers that are thankful to have them removed because they were a hazard and beyond repair. We encourage people to save, restore and protect historic landmarks; it is not our purpose to compromise our quest to find beautiful wood by taking down a building that should be protected.

The following are some advantages of using reclaimed lumber: stable and dry material, beauty that cannot be manmade or duplicated, individual, unique, tight grain, responsible use of resources, saving materials from being wasted, points for LEED certification from USGBC, made local entirely in the USA with American employees and materials, species and grading that are not commercially available, and timeless beauty like an art piece.

Not all reclaimed lumber looks like barn wood. Barn lumber can come in various patinas from blond to deeply weathered and stained. Most of our local lumber in Idaho is pine and fir, but we have regular sources for hardwoods such as oak, chestnut, hickory, ash, and maple.

Some customer's projects don't lend themselves to the rustic appearance of reclaimed lumber. If that is the case, let us sort our lumber to grade according to your preference, or we can order FSC certified lumber such CVG fir or clear maple. We can satisfy the most discriminating tastes between an old barn door to a contemporary, flat panel with clear grain door. We consider every order a custom order and design it specifically for the customer’s taste. If you don’t see what you want in our gallery, don’t be afraid to ask for something different.

farmhouse dining table and benches, reclaimed lumber As a complement to our door business, our skilled craftsmen can build frontier furniture, antique flooring, reclaimed wood trim, and barn wood cabinets.
We have designers and customers that make our products work in applications from western decor to contemporary design. Our rustic furniture is a perfect fit for the natural feel, or the beauty of our unique wood can really make any space feel warm and inviting. Some of our happiest customers let us offer a full package from the front entry door, circle sawn oak flooring, distressed kitchen cabinets, to the farmhouse dining table. Essentially if you don't see exactly what you are looking for here, don't be afraid to ask.
